New Year's Women Empowerment

To mark the beginning of 2025, I want to spotlight a story that embodies women's resilience and ambition:

Lior Wilczynski, founder and CEO of "Green Invoice," a leading digital invoicing company in Israel, has signed an extraordinary $45 million exit deal. But for her, this is far from an exit—it’s another grand beginning. After 13 years of relentless dedication, this woman, who immigrated to Israel from Russia at 13 and overcame a challenging childhood, is finally receiving the recognition she deserves. We can all agree this is a truly remarkable milestone  for balancing life as a present mother and independent programmer while building a company valued at $150 million. In her podcast with Vered Ramon Rivlin—an inspiring woman in her own right—they talk about strength, vulnerability, and the sleepless nights of motherhood. And if you’re reading this feeling like you haven’t achieved anything meaningful today, tomorrow is a new day.

Please Let’s Talk About It!

Although this post was originally written in 2021, I believe that anyone who reads Hila Sharon David’s heartfeltreflections on relationships during the first year of parenthood will find her insights invaluable.

Dr. Sharon David is an expert in sport and exercise psychology, a social psychologist, a parenting coach, and the creator of the Body-Motion-Emotion training method, designed to heal and strengthen both the body and mind. In this post, she delves into the challenges couples face as they transition into parenthood, particularly the difficulty of openly discussing these struggles—both with each other and with others. Through scientific facts, she demonstrates why it’s so crucial to have these conversations and shares effective ways to approach them.

This post earns its place in our New Year’s edition because, as we step into this new chapter, it serves as a reminder to embrace more honesty—first and foremost toward yourselves, and then toward those around you.

The Timeless White Shirt

We’ve all been there—standing in front of the closet thinking, “I have nothing to wear,” only to rediscover the magic of the white shirt. The classic white shirt always proves itself to be a wardrobe hero—it’s timeless—and not for nothing. The scandal of the white shirt began in the 18th century when Marie Antoinette wore a simple white cotton robe in a portrait—an audacious act at the time. This bold choice not only made cotton fashionable but also spurred the cotton trade, which, unfortunately, was tied to the inhumane exploitation of slavery.

Fast forward that all changed in the 1920s when Coco Chanel dared to borrow the crisp white shirt from Gentlemen’s fashion, styling it with her signature flair; but it wasn’t until the 1940s that iconic women embraced the look in the movies too, redefining it as powerful and feminine. The rest, is history. The white shirt continues to give us that sleek, and sophisticated look and has become a staple in our wardrobes. Perhaps it’s because of the rich history it carries. This article delves into the fascinating history of it and bring a curated list of the best timeless white shirts out there.

What’s In The Stars For Me?

Hypatia of Alexandria was probably the first astrologer in ancient Alexandria, Egypt. A woman who thrived in a time when most women were excluded from intellectual spaces. She became the ultimate symbol of knowledge, teaching the cosmic secrets when society wasn’t cheering

women on. She (likely) understood the powerful connection between humans and the celestial bodies. And if you’re into astrology (how could you not be?), it shows us why some patterns feel almost natural—why we react in certain ways, how to better navigate the “situationships”, and most importantly, the right timing to do so. After all, we’ve all felt the pull of a full moon or noticed our mood shift when a planet retrograde. And when that energy finally passes, we let out a sigh of relief. In honor of Hypatia and 2025, I found the Co-Star website. It has a sleek design and will send you your free natal chart ( just insert you date, time and place of birth). It even breaks down your sun, moon, and rising signs, offering insights into how the planets are working their magic in your life.
